The Home Energy Rating Systems Council: The Practitioner’s Voice

The Home Energy Rating Systems Council, Inc. is a not-for-profit trade association. Our members are companies that perform residential energy verifications.

Our mission:

  • Improve the quality and integrity of energy verification activities through the use of ANSI and ISO standards.
  • Advance the interests of the energy code inspection & testing, energy audit, and home energy rating industry.
  • Promote high standards of professionalism.
  • Provide an exchange of information and best practices.
  • Advocate for policies beneficial to the industry.

Home Energy Rating Systems Council, Inc. Regular Membership is open to companies who do:

  • energy code inspections & tests, 
  • energy audits, 
  • and home energy ratings.

Our Associate Membership is open to those who are not qualified as Regular Members, such as: 

  • individuals,
  • suppliers,
  • manufacturers, 
  • and other stakeholders.

We are overseen by an elected Board of Directors.
